The Annual Audit: What Got You Here Won’t Get You There
A Practical Framework for Closing the Year Strong
The end of the year is the perfect moment to run a brutally honest audit on your performance, not to judge yourself, but to understand yourself. Progress doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from doing what matters.
Here’s a simple three-part framework:
1. Audit Your Inputs
Look at the habits that quietly shaped your year.
Did you consistently show up for the basics (sleep, movement, planning)?
Did your calendar reflect your priorities or other people’s emergencies?
What daily choices moved you forward… and which ones quietly slowed you down?
2. Audit Your Ceiling
What are the skills, mindsets, or relationships that helped you reach your current level, but won’t take you to the next one?
Examples:
Outgrowing the “say yes to everything” approach
Needing to delegate instead of doing it all yourself
Shifting from individual performer to leader
Your next breakthrough usually requires letting go of something that once worked.
3. Audit Your Gaps
Identify the places where you’re avoiding something because it’s uncomfortable:
A difficult conversation
A decision you’ve delayed
A habit you know you need to fix
These gaps are your 2026 growth map.
Remember, what got you here won’t get you there. And that’s the opportunity.
Helping you Thrive,
